Working demos

Five working demos you can open now

Each one runs in your browser with no login and no download. Four are built on data a public agency already publishes, and the source is named on the demo itself. One runs on synthetic data and says so on its face. None of them is a client's dashboard.

The work you would buy is built in Power BI, inside your own Microsoft tenant. These demos are web pages because a demo should open without a login.

Police departments

Crime statistics on Olathe, Kansas police records

Pick a year and every figure updates: monthly crimes by NIBRS class, day of week by hour, the top 10 NIBRS offenses, traffic accidents by month and severity, calls for service, a breakdown by City Council ward and a map. The charts each carry a table view with the same numbers.

Data: Olathe Police Department records published on the City of Olathe Crime Map and Blotter (Johnson County AIMS). Not the department's official crime statistics, and the demo says so.

Public health

Community health across Kansas counties

A county map, rankings and a trend for health measures, with crude and age-adjusted figures and CDC's confidence intervals drawn on the chart. Figures are CDC's own model-based estimates and are labelled as such.

Data: CDC PLACES county estimates, built on the BRFSS survey, with Census county boundaries.

Workforce boards

Labor market reporting for Kansas local areas

Pick a local workforce development area and the whole page follows it: labor force, unemployment, employment by industry and wages, by county. Anything we computed from the releases says so where it appears.

Data: Bureau of Labor Statistics Local Area Unemployment Statistics and Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, with local areas as defined in the Kansas WIOA Combined State Plan. No participant data of any kind.

State library agencies

Kansas public libraries, measured the way an evaluation reads them

Service per resident, a six year trend, where a library sits among peers of the same service population, and which IMLS Measuring Success focal area each measure speaks to.

Data: IMLS Public Libraries Survey public use files for Kansas, fiscal years 2019 to 2024.

Grant programs

A grant reporting command center

Program overview, budget and spend against a straight-line projection, and a compliance calendar of reports coming due, for three federal awards. A guided tour takes about a minute.

Data: synthetic demonstration data, labelled as synthetic on the demo. No agency's figures.

Want one on your own agency's public data?

Send us your work email from the government page and we build a one-page sample dashboard on what your agency already publishes. Or send one line about the report you would like to stop producing by hand.
